About Us
Laughs PDX Is dedicated to the Portland Comedy community and the people who laugh along with us.
Meet the people behind the scenes who make this resource work!
Reese Hendrik | Owner/Operator
Reese Hendrik is a first generation comedian, 140th generation Jew and owner/operator of Portland’s home for comedy: Laughs PDX.
When he’s not complaining about the lack of bagels and lox at Burgerville, you can find him telling jokes at shows around the Pacific NW and feeding his dogs food that they convert into compost for his organic front porch arson adventures. When he’s not updating the site, you can listen to him hosting Science Factual.

Kiki
Kiki builds websites for her day job. She had a vision for a LaughsPDX that she could sync to her own calendar, so that she would know what the heck was going on. She knew how to build it, and so she pitched this, as ineptly as she could muster, to LaughsPDX owner Reese Hendrik, who didn’t know her from Eve. Eventually, after a few tense moments, Reese said “Ok, I guess….” and so she (and her team at MIGHTYminnow) did. The end.
Well, not quite the end. You can find her at Nu-Glitter ✨, which is of course listed on LaughsPDX 🫠 and can consequently be synced to your calendar, and occasionally other places.
How it all got started:
Originally “Lots of Laughs PDX”, it was intended to sell people on the idea of parking lot comedy in dark times. Luck and timing, but mainly the support of a community, has made it much more.
LaughsPDX started as a drive-in open mic in a vacant parking lot in November 2020 during the second lockdown of the pandemic. As live comedy returned and the community gradually reestablished itself throughout 2021, the website became the official source of information for all Portland comedy.
