DESCRIPTION:Sketch Coven is a meetup and workshop for sketch comedians. Each month\, we get together at Kickstand Comedy to read scripts in progress\, give supportive feedback\, and help develop a fun\, vibrant sketch community here in Portland. \nClick to sign up as a writer\, actor\, or just to observe and meet new people. \nWriters bring drafts of their work for the group\, including actors and acting-curious improvisers\, to table read. Facilitators will provide feedback\, then open discussion. \n\nWhether you have a completed script\, a rough draft\, or just a loose concept you’d like to flesh out\, Sketch Coven is a place to develop your sketch skills – don’t be shy!\n\nWe prioritize scripts from first timers and revised drafts of sketches we’ve read at previous meetings. Expect to only have one script read\, but feel free to bring more. We’ll do our best to get through as many as we can in the time we have. \nEvery 4th Saturday of the month. \nSuggested donation is $10 to support this and other Kickstand programs. Gabi brings an element of positivity\, personality\, and a unique perspective in her approach to achieving her goals. She is the founder of Gym Space Equity\, a non-profit that works to lower barriers & increase opportunities for marginalized\, BIPOC communities in fitness. We engage our creativity with storytelling exercises to get us started\, we share several personal stories with the group and choose which we would like to develop into a stage worthy tale. We then learn tools for writing/memorizing \, editing and performing our stories.
